Binance Reopens Withdrawals in Phases After the Hack: What Is Open and How to Withdraw

Binance has started reopening withdrawals after the $6.3 billion hack, beginning with the Bitcoin network on November 1 and adding Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain and other networks in a first phase of about 15. Most coins are still paused. Here is how the phased restart works, what to expect and how to withdraw safely.

Short answer: On Sunday, November 1, 2026, Binance began reopening withdrawals after the record $6.3 billion hack. Phase one started between 06:00 and 09:00 UTC with the Bitcoin network, followed the same day by Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain. Phase one is meant to cover about 15 networks chosen by user demand over the past week; reports list BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, BNB, TRX, SOL, XRP, ZEC, DOGE, POL, AVAX, ARB, SUI and Telegram's GRAM, though Binance has not published one definitive list. At one point on November 1 the status page still showed withdrawals suspended for 531 of 552 coins. Further reopenings depend on security checks.

How does the phased restart work?

After the hack, the exchange's hot wallets, the online wallets that process withdrawals, had to be rebuilt and refilled. Reopening everything at once would mean rebuilding dozens of wallet setups under pressure while millions of users rush to withdraw. Instead, Binance opens one network at a time, checks that the new setup is stable and moves on. It said further steps are "contingent on security and stability checks", and a second phase was planned for around November 3.

The order follows demand. Bitcoin first, then Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, then the networks most users asked for. Networks reported as still in testing on November 1 included Cardano, Chainlink, Hyperliquid, Litecoin and NEAR.

What to expect when you withdraw

Expect delays and queues. After a hack, demand to withdraw is far higher than normal and some users wait for a network that is not open yet. Binance had already covered 90% of losses by Saturday, as described in FBI blames North Korea for the Binance hack, and now says the figure is about 95%. Covering a loss is not the same as recovering it: most of the money came from Binance's own funds, while the attackers still hold billions.

If your coin is not open yet, you have options. Some assets exist on several networks: USDT, for example, may already be withdrawable on TRON or BNB Smart Chain even if another network is paused. Within Binance you can also convert a paused coin into one that is open, at the cost of a trade.

How to withdraw safely

  1. Check the status page first. Open the withdrawal page for your coin and confirm the network is enabled. Do not trust screenshots or "lists" in chats.
  2. Send a small test first. When networks just reopened, confirm a small amount arrives before sending the rest.
  3. Match the network. Sending USDT on BNB Smart Chain to a TRON address can mean lost funds. Our comparison of USDT TRC-20 vs ERC-20 explains the differences; for TRON transfers, TRON energy can cut the fee.
  4. Watch for poisoned addresses. Scammers send dust from look-alike addresses during busy periods; read address poisoning and signature phishing.
  5. Land in a wallet you control. If you want to swap on the way out, a non-custodial service can take the coin from Binance and pay a different coin to your own address; compare rates in Changerella App or the exchangers list.

FAQ

Are Binance withdrawals open again?

Partly. Binance began reopening withdrawals on November 1, 2026, starting with Bitcoin, then Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain. Phase one covers about 15 networks; many coins remain paused while security checks continue.

Which coins can I withdraw from Binance now?

Reports list phase one as including BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, BNB, TRX, SOL, XRP, ZEC, DOGE, POL, AVAX, ARB, SUI and GRAM, but Binance has not published a single definitive list. Check the withdrawal page for your coin and network.

When will the rest of Binance withdrawals reopen?

Binance says further reopenings depend on security and stability checks. A second phase was planned around November 3, 2026.

Has Binance recovered the stolen funds?

No. Binance has replaced about 95% of the stolen amount with its own funds; that is coverage, not recovery. About $3 billion was frozen on-chain, and the attackers still control the rest.
